Is your ministry giving on Twitter?

In: Strategy - By Luke DeMoss

givinggiftI would encourage you to think through that question…are you giving on Twitter? And I’ve gotta say that “giving” event updates, etc. is not the kind of giving I’m talking about. I think that one of the things that makes Tweets useful is when they are giving me stuff. The giving may be something physical like a free book or conference ticket, or it may be something non-physical like an encouragement or lesson that someone learned.

A great example of this idea of giving, just came up on Twitter this week, when Rick Warren started tweeting. Rick started tweeting on July 13 and as of today, he has 28 updates. Here’s the cool thing about the updates, they are all giving. Not one of his tweets is asking to take anything. He’s not asking you to RT something, no poll to fill out, no questions to answer. He’s just encouraging everyone through lessons learned, scripture and an occasional look into his ministry life. How cool is that? If you don’t think this giving stuff works, look at how many followers he has.

What about you…who have you seen living out a life of giving on Twitter, and how do you think you could do the same? What are some ways to give with spending no money, etc?
